Services offered:
The Epilepsy Foundation provides direct
services for individuals affected by recurring seizures and their
families and educational programs in the community. These services
include:
- Counseling, support groups and daily living
skills training
- Summer camp for children and a fall retreat
for adults
- Emergency medication program
- Ongoing social programs
- Public health education presentations
on seizure recognition and first aid tailored to any type of audience

Average cost of service is:
Direct client services are offered without charge to individuals
affected by epilepsy. Public health presentations are $50 per hour
plus travel and materials (handouts).
Funded by: Dane County, United
Way agencies, State of WI DHFS, private grants and agency fundraising.
Average length of service is:
It varies according to need, but averages 7 units (hours) of service
for direct clients, and 2.5 units for public health education.
Intake procedure is: Intake
information is taken by case specialists either by telephone or
face to face. Office visits are by appointment.
Target population is: People
and family members of those with epilepsy living in a fifteen county
service area in South Central Wisconsin (La Crosse to Sheboygan
and down through Madison). Total population of the area is about
1.2 million which represents about 20,000 people with epilepsy.
